New appointment - Dr Vinayak Singh has been appointed as a Senior Research Officer

Dr Vinayak Singh is a Biotechnologist/Biochemist with more than 15 years of extensive experience in drug discovery research. Over the course of his career, Dr Singh gathered outstanding knowledge in the field of Microbiology and Biochemistry, including Microbial Genetics, Genomics and Physiology. Dr Singh joined the University of Cape Town as postdoctoral fellowship from 2011 - 2016 where he worked in the lab of Prof. Valerie Mizrahi, currently Director of the Institute for Infectious Disease and Molecular Medicine (IDM).

He also managed all experimental work conducted under the patronage of the More Medicine for Tuberculosis (MM4TB). Dr Singh has successfully identified and validated more than 15 novel tuberculosis drug targets which have attracted significant interest in the global tuberculosis research community. He joined H3D in 2017 and has recently been appointed a Senior Research Officer in the KC academic group.
